Welcome!

Thank you for visiting the Church of the Ascension’s home on the Internet.

The Church of the Ascension is a member parish of the Anglican Catholic Church’s Diocese of the Mid-Atlantic States.  The Anglican Catholic Church is part of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, faithfully continuing the Anglican tradition.  We practice and uphold the historic Catholic Faith, Apostolic Order, Orthodox Worship, and Evangelical Witness of the traditional Anglican Church.

Our parish life flows from the centrality of our Eucharistic worship.  We uphold family values and New Testament morality, and use the 1928 Book of Common Prayer, 1940 Hymnal, and Authorized (King James) Version of the bible for our liturgies.  We worship God with all our hearts, souls and minds, in the beauty and ordered dignity of Christ-centered service.

Worship services are conducted in The Old Stone Church of Historic Centreville, which was used as a hospital, for both the Union and Confederacy, during the Civil War.   Each Sunday services are held at 10:00AM.  During the non-Summer months, Wednesday evening services are held at 7PM and Holy days are celebrated according to the Church Kalendar.  For specific schedule information see the Service Schedule page.   There is an adult education period following the Sunday service and a nursery and Sunday school are available to the families with children.  After the service has concluded, we would love for you to join us in the parish hall downstairs for light refreshments and Christian fellowship.

We look forward to seeing you at the Church of the Ascension!
